Mothers Unleashed

A Journey Toward Empowerment and Healing
Breaking the silence on maternal trauma can create a ripple effect of healing for mothers, families, and communities alike.

The Mothers Unleashed Mission

At Mothers Unleashed, we are dedicated to shedding light on the profound and often unspoken maternal experiences of loss, trauma, and hardship. Our mission is to strip away the shame and stigma that too often surrounds these deeply personal and typically isolating journeys. We believe that by sharing our stories, we can foster a community of understanding, support, and empowerment, where every mother feels seen, heard, and validated. Through candid conversations and shared experiences, we aim to lighten the load of your heartache, and help mothers everywhere unleash their strength and resilience.

How ‘Mothers Unleashed’ began.

Before becoming the Mothers Unleashed it is today, my dear fellow Mum friend and I ran a series of maternal storytelling workshops under the same title. Tamar Feinkind and I came up with the name during a brainstorming session, and wanted to find something that would reflect the power in the action of voicing our maternal stories. We wanted a name that would offer a sense of freedom, and reflect the empowerment felt in the releasing and telling of our stories. I believe the original in its entirety read: ‘Mothers Unleashed; A series of ferociously maternal storytelling events’. The events themselves were wonderfully successful, therapeutic and connecting for participants and audiences. While the Mothers Unleashed of today is not formatted to be a traditional storytelling practice in the way the original was, the name still reflects the essence of what I am cultivating for women. A space to be free of societal constraints and ideals, and freedom and empowerment in voicing our maternal experiences.

Christianne Cruz Mother of two

Gemma was an absolute lifeline on my journey to motherhood. After years of challenges, I couldn’t have made it through or delivered my baby boy without her by my side. Her support, warmth, and calm presence during my pregnancy and labor made all the difference. I feel incredibly blessed to know Gemma, and we are forever grateful for her care and guidance!

Bec Asha Doula client

Gemma has a naturally warm presence that makes you feel instantly at ease. Now with her combined training, she’s an incredible healer and facilitator. Her sage advice and love for what she does radiates from every core of her nurturing body. I’d send any women I know to her, knowing what loving hands they’re in.

Kristin Wallace Mama Voice workshop

The workshop was a beautiful space for me to start talking about and start working through my experience. Gemma facilitates the group with care and kindness and everybody has the chance to pause and reflect on what they've been through. The 'adults only' aspect I found especially good because I could spend time on myself, without the distraction of little ones. I walked away feeling seen, heard and respected and with a sense I'm not alone in what I've been through.
